But First, A Note From Our Founder.

Leadership these days feels like a never-ending crisis response, doesn’t it?

You know those moments:

When the calendar is technically calm for the night, but the body stays buzzing; when the deadline’s met, but the next one is already upon us; when the fire’s out, but your body won’t relax, because you’re already scanning for the next one.

The most maddening part is that you’re likely doing everything “right.”

You care. You communicate. You lead with heart.
But more often than not, it still feels like you’re failing…or at least not winning.

I hear this from leaders I work with every day:

“I feel like I can barely keep my head above water.”
“My whole team is burnt out, and it feels like there’s nothing I can do.”
“Everything feels so hard…so urgent…so high stakes…literally all the time…”

As you know, this isn’t (all) your fault

This is what happens when crisis becomes culture—when chronic urgency and protection patterns get baked into workplace operating systems.

That’s why this fall, we’re bringing trauma-informed leadership to the center of the conversation—especially through our work with the CDC as they lead through recovery and into reconnection.

Because leading well shouldn’t mean operating in survival mode.

We’ll be unpacking what it means to lead through chronic urgency and uncertainty, how to spot the invisible patterns that keep teams stuck, and what it really takes to institutionalize humanity at work.

Stay tuned for the powerful insights we’ll be sharing with you.

With clarity and care,
Sharon

The reason why feedback might be failing is because your team’s nervous systems are in overdrive. Let’s talk about what really makes feedback land—and what leaders can do to make it feel safe, human, and actually useful. Read more.

On the Nightstand.

Courageous leadership has never been more necessary. Courage gives us clarity and connection, allowing teams to move forward with purpose. Without it, teams stay stuck, values remain abstract, and organizations miss their chance to create meaningful change. Here’s Sharon’s top pick of the month:

Strong Ground by Brené Brown

Brené Brown’s new book, Strong Ground, has only been out for two days--and I’m just a third of the way through—but already, it’s hitting core themes we work with teams on every day: the skills necessary for courage, operationalizing values, and the difference between being kind and nice. I’m especially glad to see her dive into paradox, today’s leadership frontier, where embracing both/and opens new ways forward.

If you’ve read her earlier work, consider grabbing a copy — it builds beautifully on those foundations while pulling leaders to consider what's next.
